Our approach

With nearly 60 years of experience, Rivas Robotics is an industrial automation company delivering turnkey projects to a wide range of sectors. We design and build custom robotic solutions, always with the same goal: to optimise our customers’ productivity and make them more competitive.

Our priority is personal attention — staying alongside the customer through the whole process, from production to installation.

Alongside building robotic cells, we have added humanoid robotics under our own brand, Axon.

Who we work with, and on which processes

We work mainly for the food, chemical and manufacturing industries — both with companies taking their first step into automation and with companies that are already highly robotised.

Our focus is the start and the end of the line: depalletizing, container feeding and packaging systems, pick and place, case packing, cartoning, palletizing and product handling. We also develop special projects, when the need calls for something more customised.

How we approach a project

We always start from the need to automate a process. From there we look at the context of the plant, weigh up the alternatives and help the customer define the solution that actually makes sense: no more and no less than what is needed.

Working across sectors lets us spot patterns and solutions that repeat from one industry to another, and adapt them to each specific reality. Knowing very different production processes gives us a broad view of automation and lets us approach each need from several angles.

What it means to size an automation project properly

In every project we look for a balance between automation, investment, productivity, staffing needs, future growth and expected return.

A large company does not necessarily need a large automation system, and a mid-sized company does not necessarily need a simple one. Every process needs a solution sized to its own reality.

What happens after commissioning

During the project and afterwards, the customer has direct access to the technicians who know the installation. That technical and human continuity is part of how we work day to day.

We do not stop at analysing and specifying solutions: we design and build the automation ourselves. Decades of accumulated know-how let us make technical decisions with maintenance and the service life of the installation in mind.

The projects we fit best

We know these projects carry high expectations inside a company — in management, in senior leadership and on the production floor. An automation project is not a routine purchase: it is a significant investment with a direct impact on the production process. That is why we think it matters that the customer feels supported and confident in the decisions being made.

We are not trying to compete on being the cheapest option. We look for projects where technical and engineering judgement, experience and proximity are valued. Our aim is for the solution to make sense both technically and financially, and for the customer to have a team behind them they can rely on.

That team is also in Latin America: four Rivas Robotics employees, based in Colombia, covering the whole Latin American market in mechanical engineering, robot and PLC programming, and technical support. It is not a distributor and not an agent: it is our own team, applying the same engineering standards as in Valencia, in the customer’s own time zone.

The history of Rivas Robotics

Rivas Robotics was founded in Valencia almost sixty years ago. The company has grown and reshaped its business areas over time, adapting both to its customers’ needs and to the sector’s. At the same time it has been able to get ahead of change and open up new areas, bringing new industrial solutions to the Spanish and international markets.
